Hi, Does anyone else have bad hormonal acne, what do you do to help it?

I had really lovely skin till about 1 year ago, then I came off the pill and my skin has been a nightmare, now I am back on it, but all of a sudden I just wake up one morning with big red spots on my chin, they are really really sore and red, and i look a mess!! (22 years old btw)

Serious answers only please, as it does affect my confidence.Hi, Does anyone else have bad hormonal acne, what do you do to help it?
when i get spots i use pure tea tree oil on them, wait for it to dry then rub in a small amount of sudocrem. i do this upto three times a day, and it gets rid of them in double time. but make sure you go easy with the sudocrem, apply too much and it will give you a rash. also don't rub it all over your face as this gives you a rash too. just apply it to the actual spots. hope this helpsHi, Does anyone else have bad hormonal acne, what do you do to help it?
dear sunshine you most like will have to change your diet avoid dairy products but more fresh fruit low alcohol level you body needs to readjust

but not over night cod liveroil capsules can help one every day at 22 you are still probley still growing anyway you look all right to me good luck from ireland
since being pregnant i have had terrible acne like spots which are caused by hormones and i never used to get spots at all, so its a real shock and i hate it. I have been using just cleanser, toner and a light moisturiser and it has helped a little. If your really bothered go to your doctors, they can prescribe like a peroxide/antibiotic cream which should help. good luck

I'm a guy, but a number of foreign student women have lived in rooms in my house for a decade, and I know something of this problem.

Of those who had eruptions from excessive sebaceous gland excretion (and that's what your problem sounds like) five or six had complete success with the amount of estrogen in the pill. One at least had to change pills, but it worked. It took time for existing blemished to fade and disappear, but no new ones appeared.

If you are having new eruptions even though you are on the pill, talk to your gyno and see about changing to a pill with a different balance of active ingredients.

It's so painful for young people, I wish you a quick and complete cure.
I know exactly how you feel. I'm 33 %26amp; have had the worse skin of my life in the past few years! Even went off the pill thinking how much worse could it get if it was this bad on the pill. I tried a lot of over the counter toners, soaps, clearasil, etc, but nothing really helped. Even Proactive didn't give me the results I wanted for the money. I went to the derm doc %26amp; he got me on Retin-A %26amp; benzaclen which I think is a real strong benzoil peroxide cream (both are prescription). I have since ran out of Retin-A and the benzaclen seems to be doing a great job. I also switched make-up. I was using crap stuff %26amp; I had to use more of it to cover everything up. I looked awful. I started using Bare Essentials and it's well worth the money %26amp; got a real good face wash %26amp; moisturizer (Peter Thomas Roth is the maker of both but kinda exprensive but last a long time, you only use a little). Now I only get a few ';little'; flare-ups when it's time for my period if anything at all. Not the big red boils that I used to get all the time. I still have a few scares so please get help before you have the same problem!! Good Luck :o)
god has done this, because you been doing the rounds while on pill, self inflicted
Go to a dermatologist for the best treatment advise. In the mean time, avoid all deep fried foods, and protect your face by applying sunblock.
hmmm maybe you hve some sort of reaction to the pill?
things like this sometimes run there course i was like that a little bit younger than you and all of a sudden it cleared itself up ,but if that failed chinese medicine is really good, there consultation is usually free but see the chinese doctor they are really good at asessing people xxxx
look i have same problem as you. i start using Clearsil face washing gel, its really nice one. i think its help you within 3 days really belive in me. you can get it in Boots or any phara. shop and its cost is 2.89p.

so, just try it ,
Hi sunshine...

I know how debilitating acne can be! Since primary school have suffered and it's only been in the last four years that I have it completey under control (am 35 now)!

I was also under a skin specialist for nearly a year when was in my 20's and still it never cleared up.

Final alternative was to go homeopathic - I take

800mg of AGNUS CASTUS (400mg x 2 daily) It's a hormonal balancer, also good for mentrual problems along with Vit A and STARFLOWER OIL has a higher level of GLA than evening primrose oil which is good for the skin.

Finally, I used to get angry red lumps on my face, my friend read that 50mg ZINC will get rid of them....and it DID;o}

And now I have flawless skin! But please give them time to kick in as with all medication, you will see improvement in 2/3 months, I PROMISE!

I also wash my face 3/4 times a day, but maybe that's me being a tad obsessive!!!hehehe

I really hope this works for you as it did me....X
